Transpersonal breathwork
Is a self-exploration practice that, through intense, continuous, and accelerated breathing, accompanied by evocative and live music, facilitates access to non-ordinary states of consciousness. These states allow one to go beyond personal identity and everyday ego, creating a conducive space for deep self-discovery. This technique stimulates internal processes that promote emotional release, anxiety reduction, creative inspiration, and spiritual or mystical experiences.
This practice generates a series of transient and reversible physiological responses in the body. By increasing the frequency and depth of breathing, the intake of oxygen (O₂) into the body is increased, and the levels of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the blood progressively decrease. This reduction in CO₂ raises the blood pH, making it more alkaline, a phenomenon known as respiratory alkalosis. It is precisely this alkalosis that triggers many of the physical, emotional, and perceptual sensations that the person experiences during the session.
This technique is used in both therapeutic contexts and personal development processes, as it facilitates access to deep layers of consciousness and promotes psychological, emotional, and spiritual transformation.
